Klow: What Is Actually in the Four-Peptide Blend

GHK-Cu, BPC-157, TB-500 and KPV in one vial — and the copper peptide is roughly two thirds of it by mass.

The Klow peptide blend is four compounds in one vial: GHK-Cu, BPC-157, TB-500 and KPV. The certificate of analysis puts GHK-Cu at roughly 63 per cent of the peptide mass, so this is not four equal parts. It is a copper-peptide preparation with three smaller additions, and reading it any other way will mislead your arithmetic.

What is in the Klow peptide blend

The name is an initialism of its components. The certificate of analysis for lot KLO8000126, issued by Vanguard Laboratory, lists the compound as BPC-157 / GHK-Cu / TB-500 / KPV and reports chromatographic purity above 99.5 per cent by HPLC-UV/VIS.

The same document quantifies each component individually: GHK-Cu at 62.80mg, BPC-157 at 13.50mg, KPV at 12.40mg and TB-500 at 10.50mg. In proportion that is roughly 63, 14, 12 and 11 per cent.

Consequently the first thing to understand about this preparation is that it is dominated by one component. Three of the four are present at around a sixth of the copper peptide.

GHK-Cu: most of the vial

GHK-Cu is a copper-binding tripeptide, and the copper is part of the molecule rather than an additive. That distinction matters enough that we wrote a separate guide on the coordination chemistry.

It also explains why the blend has a blue tint. The colour comes from the copper complex, and it is diagnostic: a GHK-Cu preparation that is not blue is telling you something.

Because GHK-Cu is nearly two thirds of the mass here, the blend inherits its handling requirements more than anyone else’s.

BPC-157 and TB-500: the pairing that already exists on its own

These two are routinely studied together, to the point that Soraci sells them as a separate two-compound product. BPC-157 is a fifteen-residue sequence derived from a protein found in gastric juice; TB-500 is a short fragment of thymosin beta 4 rather than the full 43-residue protein.

KPV: the component with no guide of its own

KPV is a tripeptide, lysine-proline-valine, and it is the C-terminal fragment of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone. Those three residues are positions 11 to 13 of the parent hormone.

What makes it interesting is what it leaves behind. The published work characterises KPV as retaining the anti-inflammatory activity associated with alpha-MSH while lacking the pigmentary effects that come from melanocortin receptor engagement.

It is also unusually small, which has practical consequences: tripeptides can use peptide transporters that larger sequences cannot, and some of the intestinal work on KPV turns on exactly that.

Why the Klow peptide blend is weighted the way it is

A blend ratio is not an attempt at balance. Compounds differ in potency, in molecular weight and in the concentrations their respective literatures use, so equal masses would be arbitrary rather than neutral.

Still, the weighting is worth knowing before you calculate anything. If you treat an 80mg vial as four 20mg components you will be wrong about every one of them.

Reading the certificate of analysis

The chromatogram for this lot resolves each component as a separate labelled peak, with GHK-Cu eluting first and BPC-157 and TB4 later in the run. Four peaks, four compounds, one injection.

That is the useful property of a blend COA. It does not only tell you purity; it tells you the preparation actually contains what the label claims, in what proportion, by a method that separates them.

Handling a four-peptide blend

One vial, one reconstitution, one set of storage conditions — and the most fragile component sets the limit. Handle the blend as you would handle its least stable member rather than its most robust.

Does a blend need different handling from a single peptide?
It needs the strictest handling of any component in it. One vial means one set of conditions, so the least stable member governs storage, reconstitution and how long a working solution stays usable.
